Foundation Stage/early KS1
At-Bristol's Foundation Stage and early KS1 workshops are available throughout the academic year and support a visit to At-Bristol. Presented by trained science communicators, our range of workshops provides engaging investigative skills in a range of broad, cross-curricula contexts.
All the workshops listed are £2.75 per pupil and last 1 hour. Minimum group size:12. Maximum group size:30.
Education entry rates and services are available weekdays in term-time, 10am to 5pm (last entry at 4.30pm).
Discover the magic of prehistoric worlds through playful and imaginative games and activities in this hands-on workshop. Pupils will move like dinosaurs, search for fossils in our dig-pits and find out about the amazing creatures that once roamed the Earth.

See, hear, smell and touch the rainforest in this hands-on workshop that teaches pupils about what lives and grows in the rainforest. Children will recreate the sounds of the jungle, discover the mini beasts that live there and make their own jungle animal to take home with them.

NEW for 2013
With a world map and globe as their guide, pupils will travel the world in this multi-sensory, imaginative workshop. Pupils will handle unusual artefacts including elephant tusks, crocodile skins and primate skulls, take part in exciting stories and write a postcard to send home.

At-Bristol offers a range of exciting presenter-led shows in its Planetarium. Specially designed for school groups, these engaging shows link closely to the curriculum.
All shows are £1.00 per pupil and last up to 30 minutes.

Join Ernest the Bear as he sets out to visit the Moon and discovers the planets and stars. Space stories is a multi-sensory, interactive Planetarium show specially designed for KS1 and SEN (special education needs) groups.
Special Theme Days
These specially designed days challenge and excite students, providing enriching and cross-curricula experiences through a range of innovative activities including visiting experts in the field. Special theme days must be booked at least a month in advance and are available throughout the academic year.
Cost: £10 per student including entry to At-Bristol.
Duration: 4 hours.
Minimum group size: 20. Maximum group size: 60.
From journey planning and measuring time to patterns and shapes, pupils work together to use their maths skills in this numeracy day with a Space twist! What maths do you need to help a lost alien find its way home? Storytelling in the Planetarium, team-working
in a workshop, and big demonstrations in the studio show, Maths mission is a great way to explore the practical uses of maths.
Brain and body
Discover the amazing capabilities of the human brain and body with an exciting day of challenges! Computer microscopes in a hands-on workshop help pupils take a closer look at their bodies. Igniting sugar in our interactive science show puts pupils’ senses to the test. Plus, a special exhibition trail includes the incredible real human brain exhibit.
