Workshops
At-Bristol's KS1 workshops are available throughout the academic year and support a visit to At-Bristol. Presented by trained science communicators, our range of workshops provides engaging investigative skills in a range of broad, cross-curricula contexts.
All the workshops listed are £2.75 per pupil and last 1 hour. Minimum group size:12. Maximum group size:30.
Education entry rates and services are available weekdays in term-time, 10am to 5pm (last entry at 4.30pm.
Fossil finders
Discover the magic of prehistoric worlds through playful and imaginative games and activities in this hands-on workshop. Pupils will move like dinosaurs, search for fossils in our dig-pits and find out about the amazing creatures that once roamed the Earth.

Pushes and pulls
An exciting and interactive workshop investigating the forces we feel every day. Children will learn about forces through fun activities, including making their own windmill and launching a rocket!

Body basics
This hands-on workshop focuses on the body and the basic needs of life. Children will test their senses, learn about the skeleton, compare humans to other living things and meet Stuffee, the giant doll with removable organs, to learn about the body from the inside out.

Science Theatre Shows
At-Bristol offers a range of exciting presenter-led shows in its Studio. Specially designed for school groups, these engaging shows link closely to the curriculum and include lively fun demonstrations and lots of audience participation.
All shows are £1.00 per pupil and last up to 30 minutes.
Studio shows minimum group size: 25. Maximum group size: 70.

Explore your five senses and put them to the test! Investigate emotions and illusions in this interactive show that explores the links between the brain and senses!

The splash and bubble show
KS1/Lower KS2
Investigate the science of soap with this fun and fizzing states-of-matter show. Have a go at making a giant bubble and watch foam go up in the flames!

Planetarium shows
At-Bristol offers a range of exciting presenter-led shows in its Planetarium. Specially designed for school groups, these engaging shows link closely to the curriculum.
All shows are £1.00 per pupil and last up to 30 minutes.
Planetarium shows maximum group size: 86.
Space Stories
Join Ernest the Bear as he sets out to visit the Moon and discovers the planets and stars. Space stories is a multi-sensory, interactive Planetarium show specially designed for KS1 and SEN (special education needs) groups.

Special theme days
These specially designed days challenge and excite students, providing enriching and cross-curricula experiences through a range of innovative activities including visiting experts in the field. Special theme days must be booked at least a month in advance and are available throughout the academic year.
Cost: £10 per student including entry to At-Bristol.
Duration: 4 hours.
Minimum group size: 20. Maximum group size: 60.
Maths Mission-NEW for February 2011
Enjoy countless ways for new mathematicians to engage with numbers in a totally unique and exciting way! Developing essential team-working and problem-solving skills, pupils take part in an exciting adventure to unchartered territory using their understanding of shape, space and measures as vital tools to success.
Brain and body
Students will discover the amazing capabilities of the human brain and test their skills with a mind-bending day of challenges and conundrums, including an introduction to the senses, learning, thinking and memory skills.
