Take a 3D trip into the amazing world of animation
Running from 23 April 2005

From 23 April, the IMAX® Theatre-At-Bristol will be taking viewers on a journey through the awe-inspiring world of virtual actors in the new giant screen film Adventures in Animation 3D. In this high-tech family adventure, colourful hosts Phil and Maria explore the creation of a virtual actor named Slim, from his start as a simple sketch to his big finish as an animated movie star and boxing champion.

Slim develops from a tiny polygon into a fully-fledged 3D animated actor who’s keen to show the world his skills. He travels back in time and enters the set of his first film: a 1930’s boxing arena filled with cheering fans. Slim plays the role of a featherweight and is scheduled to fight an equivalent opponent, but instead, the shady boxing promoter pairs him against heavyweight Killer, a mountain of muscle who has 43 wins – all by knockout – under his belt. In a hilarious match, Slim, the heroic underdog, finds every trick up his sleeve to stay in the game and never loses heart. The result is an eye-popping animated adventure that’s cool, action-packed and that really packs a punch!

Simon Jones, At-Bristol’s Head of Marketing and IMAX says, ’Adventures in Animation is a truly awe-inspiring film which features astonishing character animation and incredible action sequences in vivid 3D. Not only do viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of a virtual actor, they also get a fantastic front-row seat for the break-through role of his career!’

Tickets to this eye-popping animated adventure cost: £6.50 for Adults, £4.50 for children, £5.50 for concessions and £19 for a family ticket. Call 0845 345 1235 for advance tickets and for the full programme of screenings click here.
