Battle of the bots tour kicks off in At-Bristol
23-31 July 2005
If you´ve ever seen Robot Wars or Battlebots on TV and wished you could
have a go yourself, then now´s your chance. At-Bristol is hosting the
first ever Robogeddon Roadshow 2005 Challenge in Anchor Square from
Saturday 23 to Sunday 31 July, giving everybody the opportunity to compete
Robot Wars-style and win the £500 top prize.
You don´t need any previous experience of roboteering to take part in the
Robogeddon Roadshow - all you need to do is turn up in Anchor Square
between 11am and 7pm, take the controls of one of the 70kg Cyber Raptor
robots and score as many points as you can in a two minute battle with
three other fearsome 'Raptors’. Points are scored by ramming your enemies'
“bumper goals” and, to improve your chances of winning, you can flip your
opponents' robots to impede their progress and self-right your own Cyber
Raptor when it comes under attack.
The player with the most points at the end of each game receives a unique
ticket recording their score, allowing them to register on-line and enter
the prize-winning tournament. Players can also log on to track their
position on the Leaderboard, win more prizes and locate Robogeddon venues
across the UK.
The objective of the Robogeddon Roadshow 2005 Challenge is for players to
accumulate the highest total and the highest average score during the
competition period. Individuals can play Robogeddon as many times as they
like in as many host venues as they like to increase their chances of
winning the tournament.
The Robogeddon Roadshow Challenge 2005 will be on tour across the south
and central England this summer, kicking off in At-Bristol from 23 to 31
July and finishing at Alton Towers from 28 August to Sunday 11 September.
A breakdown of all tour venues can be found on
www.robogeddon.com
At the end of the Roadshow tour the top 120 players on the Leaderboard
will be invited to compete for the top prize in a grand final tournament
to be held in the Autumn.
