The Polar Express 3D steams back into the IMAX Theatre
Running from 21 November 2005 - 29 January 2006

At-Bristol will prove Santa Claus really does exist when the enchanting seasonal blockbuster, The Polar Express: An IMAX Experience 3D, returns to the IMAX Theatre on 21 November. Last year this magical holiday story steamed into cinematic history as the world’s first Hollywood feature film ever to be digitally re-mastered into a 3D IMAX Experience.

Taking inspiration from Chris Van Allsburg’s enchanting Christmas story, Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Polar Express: An IMAX Experience combines state of the art animation and the magic of IMAX 3D. The images virtually leap off the IMAX screen - audiences will be grabbing at falling snowflakes, ducking as the train screeches into their lap and feeling the howl of the steam whistle via 12,000 watts of surround sound on a screen towering four storeys high!

Believing in Santa Claus isn't easy when all of your friends and family insist he's just make-believe. For one doubting boy, an astonishing event occurs. Late on Christmas Eve night, he lies in bed hoping to hear the sound of reindeer bells from Santa's sleigh. When to his surprise, a steam engine's roar and whistle can be heard outside his window. The conductor (voice of Tom Hanks) invites him on board to take an extraordinary journey to the North Pole with many other pyjama-clad children. There, he receives an extraordinary gift only those who still believe in Santa can experience.

Simon Jones, At-Bristol’s Head of Marketing and IMAX says ‘We are delighted The Polar Express 3D is back by popular demand as it was such a hit with families last year. Seeing this magical film in IMAX means you not only get the benefit of the massive screen and incredible digital surround sound but it’s also in stunning 3D!’

Tickets to The Polar Express: An IMAX Experience 3D cost £8.50 for adults, £5.50 for children, £6.50 for concessions and £24 for a family ticket.

For more festive fun, don’t miss the riotous 3D adventure Santa vs. the Snowman (PG), screening from 3 December 2005. Transporting kids and adults alike straight from the theatre to the North Pole, the film offers an unforgettable seasonal experience.
