Mountain Gorilla (2D) swings into the IMAX Theatre-At-Bristol
17 March – 23 April 2006

Forget King Kong and other giant gorillas of myths and movies, from 17 March the
IMAX® Theatre-At-Bristol will be giving audiences the chance to meet the real stars of the jungle with a special run of Mountain Gorilla 2D. Accompanying Wildwalk-At-Bristol’s hugely successful touring exhibition, Great Apes – How Great are You?, the film will screen from 17 March until 23 April at special IMAX rates.

Awarded Outstanding Film Documentary by the prestigious Genesis Film Awards, Mountain Gorilla (2D) propels audiences to the heart of the stunning misty mountains of Africa for an amazing encounter with some of the most endangered species in the world.

Laugh along at the playful antics of the young gorillas as they tumble, twirl, wrestle and swing and find out what happens when a cheeky young gorilla tries to exert his newfound sense of power over the proud silverback male! In stark contrast, be totally captivated at the remarkable tenderness of a mother as she cradles her infant and learn how the future of these astonishingly intelligent and curious animals is increasingly uncertain.

Simon Jones, At-Bristol’s Head of Marketing and IMAX says ‘This is a truly breathtaking IMAX film that will have people of all ages completely fascinated. Mountain Gorilla (2D) sounds a strong warning to us all about the fragile position of the these Great Apes and we are thrilled to be able to offer such a powerful film to educate audiences about their role in the preservation process’.

The executive producer of this classic IMAX film was the late Christopher Parsons, founder of the BBC’s Natural History Unit and the inspiration behind Wildwalk-At-Bristol and the Wildscreen Festival.

Mountain Gorilla 2D is running for a limited time only and tickets to this ape-adventure are charged at special discounted IMAX rates of £4.50 for adults, £3.50 concessions and £2.50 for children.
