It’s one giant leap for IMAX with Walking on the Moon 3D
From 27 March 2006
From 27 March 2006, the IMAX®Theatre-At-Bristol will be launching
audiences into outer space with the breathtaking new film Walking on the
Moon 3D.
Prepare to be propelled nearly a quarter of a million miles above the
Earth’s surface to join the only 12 people who have ever walked on the
moon in this epic giant screen adventure. Experience what they saw, heard,
felt, thought and did as they took their first few steps on the lunar
landscape.
Directed by Mark Cowen and presented by Tom Hanks, the film showcases the
past, present and future of space exploration. Through a combination of
previously unreleased NASA footage, unpublished photographs and recreated
renditions of the lunar landscape, audiences can explore the remarkable
journey through the boots of an astronaut like never before.
Simon Jones, At-Bristol’s Head of Marketing and IMAX says, ’Walking on the
Moon is a completely immersive and awe-inspiring cinematic experience. It
has really beamed the far reaches of outer space down to Earth and into
the cinema! This film really is the closest most of us will ever get to
actually being on the moon.’
Walking on the Moon 3D will undoubtedly inspire a new generation of space
explorers to take on their own expeditions of discovery. With crystal
clear images, IMAX 3D technology and state-of-the art digital surround
sound, the IMAX space legacy continues.
Tickets to this lunar voyage are charged at standard IMAX prices. For
