At-Bristol’s having a riot in the rainforest this
half-term!

11 May 2006 - You don’t need to hop on a plane to experience steamier
climates this half term, just head to At-Bristol for some incredible
tropical rainforest adventures. With a line-up of special shows, workshops
and meet the expert sessions, there’s loads of fun for all the family!
In Wildwalk At-Bristol, you can transport yourself to the tropics and
discover the wonders and mysteries of life in the rainforest. Get to grips
with all the creepy crawlies and amazing animals that roam the rainforest
in a special Rainforests revealed show and find out about the climate and
environment that they live in. Make a rainstick in Rainforest stations and
see if you can recognise some fruits and plants found in the jungle. You
can even try and recreate the sounds of rainstorm using just your body and
voice! All activities are free with a ticket to Wildwalk, run everyday
throughout half term and as part of the Bristol Festival of Nature (3 June
- 4 June 2006).
Over in Explore At-Bristol, you can get constructive in the Live Science
zone with a programme of building battles and science trickery! Based
around the fact-filled interactive exhibition, The Forces that made IK
Brunel, the accompanying programme includes Build it!, where you can try
your hand at bridge building and aeroplane assembling and Launch it!, a
whistle stop tour through all things transportable! Discover the
scientific secrets behind different types of transport past and present,
and get a unique insight into what the future will bring. Watch out for
the Busking Brunels on the exhibition floor too. With exploding film pot
rockets, egg strength tests and balloon races, there’s a whole host of
experiments to try.
Finally don’t miss amazing 3D adventures in the IMAX At-Bristol Theatre.
For wildlife enthusiasts there’s the chance to come face to face with the
most advanced predators on earth in SHARKS 3D. The film explores why
sharks are essential to the survival of our ocean life and viewers will
discover that they are not wicked man-eating creatures, but wild,
fascinating, and highly endangered animals. For the more intrepid, there’s
the chance to be propelled nearly a quarter of a million miles above the
Earth’s surface in Walking on the Moon 3D. Join the only 12 people
who have ever walked on the moon in this epic giant screen adventure and
experience what they saw, heard, felt, thought and did. For the full
